Following demonstrations, officers moved anti-immigration protesters away from counter-protesters and drove them away in a police van towards the train station

About 2,000 counter-protesters took to the streets in Brighton for a peaceful protest on Wednesday night in response to reports of a planned anti-immigration demonstration.

There was a significant police presence but Sussex Police said there were no incidents of note and no arrests.

There were around eight anti-immigration protesters at the scene.
