Novak Djokovic delivered an outstanding performance, defeating Carlos Alcaraz 7-6, 7-6 in a classic match that lasted nearly three hours at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

This is also Djokovic’s first gold medal in Olympic history after several near misses.

Previously, the best result the Serbian player achieved was a bronze medal at the 2008 Olympics held in China.

This impressive achievement completes Novak Djokovic’s “career Golden Slam,” having now won all four prestigious Grand Slam titles and an Olympic gold medal.

Djokovic also holds the record for the most Grand Slam titles, with a total of 24, along with numerous ATP titles throughout his career.

The final was exciting from the start, with both players holding their serves without losing a break, forcing a tiebreak to decide the first set, which ended 6-6.

In the tiebreak, Djokovic defeated Alcaraz 7-3 to win the first set 7-6.

The second set followed a similar pattern, with both players again tied 6-6 after 12 games, leading to another tiebreak.

In the second tiebreak, Djokovic showed superior composure, winning 7-2, thus concluding the men’s singles final with a 2-0 victory (7-6, 7-6) and securing the gold medal.

This is also the second gold medal for the Serbian delegation at the Paris 2024 Olympics, moving them up to 19th place in the medal standings.
