According to Gal Gadot, it is possible for Wonder Woman to be attracted to both men and women. Although the upcoming DC Comics film set for release in June 2017 does not depict any same-sex relationships, the Israeli actress believes that living in Themyscira- a land solely inhabited by women- could have influenced Wonder Woman’s sexual orientation. Gadot expressed that Wonder Woman is a character who loves people for their true selves and would love them regardless of their gender.
Actress Gal Gadot, best known for playing Wonder Woman in the DC Comics universe, has suggested that the superhero’s sexuality may have been influenced by her upbringing in the women-only world of Themyscira. While it has never been explored in the films, Gadot believes that the idea makes sense when considering the years that Wonder Woman spent surrounded by other women. This theory was originally proposed by comic book writer Greg Rucka last month. Gadot has portrayed the character for almost a year, appearing in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Wonder Woman and the upcoming Justice League movie.
Off-screen: During an interview with Variety, the Israeli actress confirmed that there won’t be any bisexual relationships in her upcoming movie set to release in June 2021, as depicted in the photo from San Diego Comic-Con in July.
Patty Jenkins, the director of the movie, is famous for directing Charlize Theron’s Oscar-winning performance in 2003’s Monster. Gal Gadot, the lead actress, gushed about Jenkins’s brilliance and passion for telling the story exactly as she envisioned. Gadot also noted that having a female director for a coming-of-age story about a girl becoming a woman made perfect sense.
Gadot described her character as a compassionate fighter who strongly believes in the power of goodness and wants to ensure that everyone lives a joyful and secure life.
