American Idol still hasn’t announced a replacement for Katy Perry yet, but Season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert has some ideas for who should fill her vacated seat on the panel.
Since Perry opted to leave the show, much has been made about who would potentially take her place.
Fans have shared their hopes for potential artists to take the job, and others who have been associated with the show in the past have also chimed in with their thoughts on returning.
Alums like Kelly Clarkson have also talked about the role, though the talk show host has made it clear she doesn’t want the job.
Now, Lambert, who hasn’t shared his thoughts on taking the job himself, is putting his pick forward.

During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Lambert revealed he was on board with one specific country singer when a fan caller asked him for his input.
“I think LeAnn Rimes would be great,” he said. “I just worked with leAnn Rimes down in Australia on The Voice and she’s so lovely, so down to Earth–very spiritual and deep, but great sense of humor.”
“I think she’d be good on the show,” he added.
His thoughts are just the latest to come from those within the American Idol family.

Scotty McCreery, who won Season 10 of the show, has already shared he, like Clarkson, has no interest in the job.
“Absolutely not. I don’t want to do that. Do you?” he said while appearing on alum Jennifer Hudson’s talk show. “I know what it feels like being on stage, being judged. I don’t want to put that on somebody else.”
However, Jordin Sparks has revealed she would love the job.
“I’m able to just be like, ‘OK, well this is what happened’ and be honest. I think that’s a really big key,” she said. “Also, I’ve been there. I’ve been in their shoes. I know the insanity that comes when the show you’re on gets really popular, and all of a sudden you go from being a ‘normal’ person to being so recognizable.”
