Gray News) – Flavor Flav offered to give American gymnast Jordan Chiles a bronze clock necklace after a court ruling resulted in Chiles being asked to return the bronze medal she won in the floor exercise final at the Paris Olympics.
“imma make you a BRONZE CLOCK NECKLACE,,, and that’s something NO ONE else has,!!! Hit me up my girl,,, I gotchu,!!!” Flavor Flav wrote on X.
The offer comes after the Court of Arbitration for Sport voided the appeal by Chiles’ coach Cecile Landi.
During the floor exercise final, Chiles finished her routine and was awarded a 13.666, which was fifth just behind Romanian gymnasts Ana Barbosu and Sabrina Maneca-Voinea at 13.700.
Landi appealed to the judges to have an element restored to Chiles’ routine. Judges approved the appeal, boosting Chiles’ score by .1, which put Chiles in third place.
The CAS said the appeal came 4 seconds past the 1-minute time limit for scoring inquiries.
On Saturday, the International Gymnastics Federation said it would respect the court’s position. It announced that it was reallocating the bronze medal to Barbosu.
The U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee said Sunday that it will appeal the court ruling.
“We firmly believe that Jordan rightfully earned the bronze medal, and there were critical errors in both the initial scoring by the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) and the subsequent CAS appeal process that need to be addressed,” the USOPC said in a statement to the Associated Press.
