Miley Cyrus has decided to take a break from touring despite the success of her latest album, as she revealed in an interview with Vogue UK. The 30-year-old singer expressed that she is not interested in pleasing others or seeking their approval. Following her 2014 tour, Cyrus took a moment to reflect on living life for her own happiness and satisfaction versus living it to please others.
Miley Cyrus embarked on a global tour to promote her album Bangerz in 2013, which ranked first on the Billboard 200 chart. Her tour spanned across North America, Europe, Latin America, New Zealand, and Australia. Afterward, she only performed solo shows and music festivals like Glastonbury, Austin City Limits, and Lollapalooza.
In a recent interview with Vogue UK, vocalist Flowers disclosed that Cyrus prefers performing for close friends and family instead of large arenas. Cyrus herself stated that singing for hundreds of thousands of people lacks connection, safety, and feels unnatural. It can be isolating because, even when standing before thousands, one is still alone.
On May 16th, Cyrus released the music video for “Jaded,” the third single from her eighth studio album, Endless Summer Vacation, which came out in March. “Flowers,” her first single, held the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for eight weeks and became the fastest song to achieve one billion streams in Spotify history.
