Emma Watson will always have a special spot in our hearts for her iconic role as Hermione Granger. However, she’s come a long way since her child-star days and has become an actress, model, fashion icon, and advocate. In addition to continuing her acting career after Harry Potter, Emma has utilized her global platform to raise awareness about women’s rights, gender equality, and human rights.

Back in September 2009, Emma gave us something to be excited about when she teamed up with People Tree, a brand known for their ethical clothing. It was a great move that showcased her interest in sustainable fashion and responsible consumerism. A couple of years later, in 2011, Emma took things a step further by posing for artist Mark Demsteader as part of a humanitarian campaign which raised money for CAMFED, a UK-based non-profit organization. Fast forward to 2019, and Emma continues to make waves in the international community. This time, she was selected to join the Gender Equality Council, where she joins the ranks of Nobel Peace Laureates Nadia Murad, Dr. Denis Mukwege, and Ouided Bouchamaoui. It’s safe to say that Emma is using her platform for good, and we can’t wait to see what else she has in store for us.
